Cameo Drive! is an external case for 3,5" IDE devices like hard disks, LS-120 or ZIP drives, which can be connected to a PC via FireWire™ port.

No, devices must be purchased seperately.

Cameo Drive! uses the generic operating system drivers. No special driver installation is necessary.

Which operating systems support the Cameo Drive!

Answer 6:
Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP and MacOS Version 8.6 or higher.

How is the performance compared to an internal drive?

Answer 7:
Cameo Drive! uses the full FireWire™ bus bandwidth. In practice there is no difference to an IDE (internally connected) hard disk.

Which chipset is implemented in the Cameo Drive!?

The Oxford 911 chipset is used.

Is any software included with the device?

Answer 9:
No, a software bundle is not included.

Can the Cameo Drive! be used without the power supply?

Answer 10:
No. The accompanying power supply must be connected. The FireWire port cannot deliver enough electricity to power the device.
