Question
1:
After
installing the software and selecting a channel, no TV image appears. What is
wrong?
Answer 1:
Be sure the included Cyberlink
PowerDVD 5 software is installed. Make sure this codec is chosen in the Cinergy
software under Settings->Codecs (Cyberlink Video /SP Decoder).
If you have installed any video codec packs (i.e Nimo, Tsunami, K-lite, Ligos, etc...) please deinstall them as they may interfere with the Cinergy Digital software.
Check the PCI Device Listings menu to be sure the Cinergy 1200 and the graphic card (or any other component) are not sharing an interrupt. Shoud this prove to be the case try using another PCI slot for the Cinergy card.
Install the newest graphic card drivers!
If you are using a DISEqC-capable satellite system try testing other DISEqC modes in the Cinergy software settings (Settings->DISEqC). More info can be found in the Cinergy manual under "DISEqC settings for experts".
Make sure you have the latest DirectX version installed.
Question
2:
When
installing Power DVD5 a serial number is requested, but none is provided.
Answer 2:
The Cinergy 1200 DVB-S driver must be installed first. Then Power DVD5
can be installed and no serial number is requested.
Question
3:
Can broadband
internet data services be used with the Cinergy 1200 DVB-S?
Answer 3:
This is not possible at the moment. This will be implemented in a future
software version.
Question

Does
the Cinergy 1200 DVB-S have an MPEG-2 hardware decoder?
Answer 4:
No, modern PCs can handle this task without any problem.
Question
5:
Which operating systems are supported?
Answer 5:
The Cinergy 1200 DVB-S can be used under Windows 2000 or XP. Support for
Windows 9x or ME is not planned nor possible.
Question
6:
Can
I recieve pay TV channels with the Cinergy 1200 DVB-S?
Answer 6:
No. Since no Common Interface (CI) module is available, the reception of scrambled channels is not possible. At present a CI module is not planned for this purpose.
Question
7:
What
file formats can be used for recording?
Answer 7:
Recording can be done in PVA format or MPEG2. PVA files can be played with
the Cinergy software (or third party software that supports this format). MPEG2
files can be played with any DVD software.
Should one want to edit the files after recording then PVA file format is recommended
as it contains extra stream information in regard to the synchronicity between
audio and video. Various freeware tools exist to edit/convert PVA files.
Question
8:
Can
the recorded files be burned directly as VCD/SVCD/DVD?
Answer 8:
Digital TV streams use MPEG2 transport stream compression. These streams
vary from one another and from the MPEG2 standard. This means the recorded file
usually has to be converted before it can be burned. Various video editing applications
can be used for this. The Cinergy 1200 DVB-S CD includes Ulead Video Studio
7, which can be used to convert and burn the files to DVD/VCD/SVCD.
Question
9:
With
some channels no EPG or videotext is available.
Answer 9:
EPG and videotext are channel dependent. Some channels dont send EPG info
or videotext.
Question
10:
How
can I determine the MAC address for my Cinergy 1200 DVB-S?
Answer 10:
In the near future there will be a network driver available from us that
will be able to determine the MAC address. This is not possible without this
driver. The update will be posted on our website as soon as it is available.
